The Apartment Above the Groovy Tunes, Saturday Morning
All said, Jono had slept in far worse places than the floor. He'd pulled out enough blankets to make the whole experience not terrible after Rinoa and Squall's arrival last night, and Joni had only trampled him a few times. Which, really, wasn't all that different from what she'd be up to if he'd actually slept on his... bed.

His mattress on the floor. At least with Squall here, he had someone he could shake down to help him move his furniture from the Boards. He'd been putting it off a while, now, mostly because it involved actually going back to the Boards a few more times, but with company staying until they could find a place of their own, he really couldn't put that off much longer.

He'd appreciate that he actually had furniture to haul over soon enough. In the meantime, he was giving his kitchen a despairing look. He'd managed to stock the bare minimum before his company had arrived, which mostly involved milk, bread, cereal, and disposable dishes. He'd let Squall and Rinoa figure out proper groceries between them.

[OOC: Open for them what are staying in the apartment, and any kids that might have a reason to be here, too!]

It was as if she knew him!

//You can come in,// he replied, stepping out of the way and waving her in, //but you're not going to be particularly thrilled with the state of affairs in here. I'm in the process of moving at the moment.//

As he had been for about a month, now. He was bad at this.

Angela stepped in and looked around curiously; it mostly wasn't bad, just...bare.

She eyed the kitchen with what was almost pain, though. "You must not be with Father yet. He'd never let this stand."

//No, I, er, I suppose he wouldn't,// Jono agreed, looking into the kitchen.

Hannibal. Seriously.

//I really haven't had any use for it, myself, until today. I had a stocked kitchen a couple of months ago, but I'm really only missing it again now.//

Angela stopped dead at that, and turned to hug Jono tight, sending him wordless encouragement and love and happiness. She'd heard the stories of how bad it had been, but seeing him and feeling him like this was different.

Oh, Jono hadn't actually seen that coming. And when her arms wrapped around him and he felt that wave of emotion - genuine emotion, from a daughter to a father - he really couldn't do anything but wrap his arms around her, too, and just... settle into that hug for a moment, sending a wordless wave of thanks and appreciation in turn.

"I hope this isn't too weird," Angela said a little sheepishly into Jono's shoulder. "I know you don't even know me yet."

Not that she was letting go until he did. He seemed like he needed it, and she wasn't used to seeing him so...raw.

//Bit surprising,// he admitted after a moment, though it was a few moments more before he eased back a little. //But I can appreciate where it came from. And it was...//

He shrugged. 'Nice' seemed like such a useless word, sometimes. Not quite enough to really get a point across, too cheap for feeling.

//Right. Real. I don't know you, but there's little doubt you're one of mine.//

Angela snickered. "So Father likes to say when I start driving him mad."

//Yes, you definitely got some of that from me,// Jono replied, a hint of a faint laugh in his words. //And I suppose I ought to break the news to him, too. I don't think the island's been so kind as to bless him with a daughter, before.//

"Oo, yes, please!" Angela grinned. "He's harder to shock, but I like to try."

//Keeps him on his toes,// Jono decided, pulling his phone from his pocket. //A few surprises here and there are good for him. Now, should I text him, or would you like to speak to him on the phone?//

"Oh, I want to talk!" She grinned and bounced a little. "I want to hear his voice. I don't suppose you've got video on that?"

Jono looked at his phone, and then looked back at her. And then looked at his phone again before just handing it her way.

//I have no idea,// he admitted. //I never thought to try.//

Digital technology and Jono rarely got along.

Angela rolled her eyes as she took the phone. Some things, apparently, didn't change. She flipped through the contacts and grinned. Yes! Facetime! She punched the number on-screen and waited.

Hannibal glanced at his tablet, then frowned. Why would Jono be calling him? Unless he'd suddenly gotten a mouth back, holding up cue cards would make for a rather slow conversation.

He picked up the call and frowned in confusion at the young girl on the other end. He could see Jono in the background, and he didn't look as though anything was wrong, but... "Hello? Who is this?"
