The Apartment Above the Groovy Tunes, Saturday Morning
All said, Jono had slept in far worse places than the floor. He'd pulled out enough blankets to make the whole experience not terrible after Rinoa and Squall's arrival last night, and Joni had only trampled him a few times. Which, really, wasn't all that different from what she'd be up to if he'd actually slept on his... bed.

His mattress on the floor. At least with Squall here, he had someone he could shake down to help him move his furniture from the Boards. He'd been putting it off a while, now, mostly because it involved actually going back to the Boards a few more times, but with company staying until they could find a place of their own, he really couldn't put that off much longer.

He'd appreciate that he actually had furniture to haul over soon enough. In the meantime, he was giving his kitchen a despairing look. He'd managed to stock the bare minimum before his company had arrived, which mostly involved milk, bread, cereal, and disposable dishes. He'd let Squall and Rinoa figure out proper groceries between them.

[OOC: Open for them what are staying in the apartment, and any kids that might have a reason to be here, too!]

//And older than I'd care to be,// Jonothon countered, looking a little taken aback. //Er, apologies, I'm afraid you have me at something of a disadvantage, miss...?//

Miss Surprised Telepath Girl Who Apparently Knew Him?

"Oh, dear, this is going to be awkward, isn't it?" She grinned hopefully and stuck out her hand. "Angela. Angela Simone Lecter. Um. Hi, Dad; surprise?"

2014-02-15 08:04 pm (UTC) (Link)

//Surprised,// Jono replied, in a sort of 'mission accomplished, good job,' tone as he reached out to awkwardly shake her hand in turn. //Dad?//

Oh. There had been a dance yesterday, hadn't there?

//... Lecter?//

He'd be with you in a moment, Angela. He was just stuck on little things like, 'What?' and 'HOW?'

2014-02-15 08:09 pm (UTC) (Link)

Pardon Angela, Jono. She was snickering just a little at the look on your face. "Sorry." She even was, a little. "I seem to be from a different universe, I'm guessing. I'm not sure what's going on, but I felt your mind and came this way. Thought maybe you could help."

2014-02-15 08:12 pm (UTC) (Link)

If not for the fact that this was a sort of annual bit of mindfuckery, Jono probably would have had to go and take a seat or something. As it stood, mostly he was just pinching the bridge of his nose while his brain ticked away at that.

//I can certainly try, though if this is anything like other things the island has pulled over the years, the best thing for it is to wait it out. Let me guess- You came through a portal, right? Into the park?//

2014-02-15 08:15 pm (UTC) (Link)

"That's right. You do know what it was, then?" She eyed his scrunched-up face a little worriedly. "Do you have a headache?"

2014-02-15 08:28 pm (UTC) (Link)

//Mostly just wondering how many more children I'll end up with this weekend,// Jono admitted, projecting a sigh. //I strongly doubt you'll be the only one. It happens sometimes, after school dances, though usually it's prom...//

Right. He sounded insane. Good, then.

//You have been told about Fandom Island's tendency to mess around with its citizens, I assume?//

2014-02-15 08:38 pm (UTC) (Link)

"Oh, yes!" She shook her head. "I should've realised that's where I was, but I never heard about it sucking people up before." She laughed. "Mostly I remember you and father worrying if Fandom or Jean Grey was more dangerous for me to go to."

2014-02-15 08:41 pm (UTC) (Link)

//Jean...?// Going to Jean would be difficult, as she was currently dead and all.

Jono was at least a few weeks away from that e-mail from Logan, yes.

//And your father - other father - is Hannibal? Really?// He wasn't going to ask. He wasn't going to ask... //How did that happen?//

2014-02-15 09:07 pm (UTC) (Link)

Angela raised her eyebrows at him. "Well, you see, sometimes when two men love each other very much," she started in a 'humoring him' tone, "they get really close together. And they touch each other. And then," she paused for dramatic effect, put on her dreamiest look, and definitely didn't look at Jono for fear of losing it, "one of them turns on the cloning machine!"

She owed it to him for chickening out and making Father give her The Talk.

2014-02-16 12:01 am (UTC) (Link)

Well, out of the two of them, which was more qualified? Hmm?

//Jesus bloody Christ.// That was a 'Jesus bloody Christ' of relief, for the record. There were a million and one horrible things going through his head, here. That was definitely the lesser of all of the possible evils. //A cloning machine? Really?//

Seriously. Thank you, Fandom, for not completely breaking his brain with this one.

And he couldn't even blame that one on her other father, because... Hannibal. The bratty side clearly came from him.

2014-02-16 01:57 am (UTC) (Link)

Oh, Jono hadn't seen Hannibal's bratty side yet.

"Apparently," she agreed. "Not that you knew what it was at the time. I'm a happy accident, I'm told."

She cocked her head at him and gave him an exasperated look. "Do I get to come in, or shall I sleep in the park tonight?"

Not that she didn't have a credit card and more than enough allowance to afford a hotel if it came to it, but she trusted Dad's guilt more than Fandom's link to her bank.

2014-02-16 02:01 am (UTC) (Link)

It was as if she knew him!

//You can come in,// he replied, stepping out of the way and waving her in, //but you're not going to be particularly thrilled with the state of affairs in here. I'm in the process of moving at the moment.//

As he had been for about a month, now. He was bad at this.

2014-02-16 02:04 am (UTC) (Link)

Angela stepped in and looked around curiously; it mostly wasn't bad, just...bare.

She eyed the kitchen with what was almost pain, though. "You must not be with Father yet. He'd never let this stand."

2014-02-16 02:16 am (UTC) (Link)

//No, I, er, I suppose he wouldn't,// Jono agreed, looking into the kitchen.

Hannibal. Seriously.

//I really haven't had any use for it, myself, until today. I had a stocked kitchen a couple of months ago, but I'm really only missing it again now.//
